There are very few events in life that can put the wild force of a bull, the nobility
and strength ofthe horse, and the skill and execution of a man, together in such a
brilliant and harmonic ensemble.
This way of bullfighting is called "Rejoneo", an it is the first way in which man
fought bulls - during the reconquest
|
of Spain from the Arabs, in the Middle Ages,
at times between offensives, the horsemen at the frontlines approached bulls in
the wild and learned to move around them without being caught. This excercise was
fruitful in enhancing the riding skills of the horsemen, as well as for training
the horses. Later, In the XVith century, the activity evolves
|
into a show which would take place during festivities.
To organize a "Rejoneo" entails bringing in a professional "Rejoneador", with
his truck full of horses, which is some enterprise, and prices start at 2,000 Euros.
